Composite materials refer to panels consisting of two outer layers made of thermoplastic polymer, hot-bonded to a central core, also composed of thermoplastic polymer. The honeycomb structure of the core provides rigidity to the panel, while the two exposed outer layers deliver a polished, finished appearance.
These materials can be processed using both “stand-alone” (traditional) machines and “on-the-fly” cutting machines. The latter are capable of performing longitudinal trimming followed by cross-cuts in continuous forming lines, where the material remains in constant motion.
