N-DX DRUM DRYER

DRUM DRYING SYSTEM

Description

A ROTARY DRUM DRYER is a machine used to remove moisture from solid materials, such as minerals, sand, agricultural products, food, industrial waste, and more. The device consists of a large horizontal metal cylinder that slowly rotates around its axis. Inside the drum, the material to be dried is continuously lifted and dropped as the drum rotates, exposing it to a flow of hot air introduced into the cylinder.

This combination of rotation, material movement, and hot air flow allows for uniform and controlled drying. Rotary drum dryers are particularly appreciated for their efficiency and ability to handle large volumes of material, making them ideal for large-scale industrial applications. Additionally, thanks to their robust design and versatility, they can be used in a wide range of industries, adapting to various process requirements.

The production range for the N-DX models can range from 400 kg/h to 5000 kg/h of dried material. The Nova Pellet drum dryer line is distinguished by two types: single-pass drums and three-pass drums, depending on the number of drying cylinders present.

The main components of a rotary drum dryer are described below:

Rotary Drum

This is the heart of the dryer, a cylinder (or three cylinders in the case of a three-pass drum) that slowly rotates to allow for uniform drying of the material. The single-pass drum is internally divided into several partitions or stages, which promote the movement of the material inside and optimize its exposure to the hot air flow. The three-pass drum consists of three cylinders nested within each other, which increase the residence time of the material inside, thereby enhancing production capacity while occupying the same amount of space.

Hot Air Generator

This component is responsible for producing the hot air flow required for drying. The hot air generator can be powered by wet or dry wood chips, wood pellets, or natural gas (methane) or LPG.

Exhaust Fan

This device ensures the flow of hot air through the drum. The fan creates a pressure differential that pushes the hot air into the rotating drum, improving the drying efficiency.

Control System

This includes a control panel that allows adjustment of the machine’s operational parameters, such as drum rotation speed, air temperature, and fan speed, ensuring optimal drying performance.

Loading and Unloading System

This system includes the mechanisms for introducing the material to be dried into the drum and for collecting the dried material. These systems may include conveyor belts, augers, or other handling devices.

Support Frame

The supporting structure that holds the rotating drum, hot air generator, and other components of the machine. The frame is designed to ensure stability and reduce vibrations during operation.

Safety Systems

These may include temperature sensors, alarm systems, and automatic shutdown devices to prevent malfunctions and ensure operational safety.
