Main Components and Technical Features

Open-Sky Storage Tank

The tank structure is made entirely of carbon steel, ensuring strength and durability over time. It consists of a solid supporting structure made of lateral sides and crossbars in tubular steel, reinforced to support the side walls, end panels, and the mobile floor base. This configuration allows for effective containment and handling of biomass, even under the most demanding operational conditions.

Mobile Floor Base “Walking Floor”

The core of the system is the mobile floor, developed thanks to Nova Pellet’s decades of experience. This innovative “Walking Floor” system allows the continuous translation of material within the tank towards the discharge point, where the material is unloaded by gravity onto a screw conveyor positioned below. The screw conveyor functions as an extractor, ensuring precise and continuous feeding for the subsequent production lines. The entire translation process is managed by an advanced electrical control panel with a PLC system, ensuring smooth and synchronized operation.

Lower Support Structure and Tank Overheight

The tank is supported by a robust lower structure consisting of two HEA steel beams, placed longitudinally and electro-welded to the tank’s base. This configuration provides exceptional stability and ease of installation. The tank and support structure are painted in a single color, with an additional anti-rust treatment to ensure long-lasting protection against corrosion.

Hydraulic Unit

The mobile floor feed system is powered by a high-efficiency hydraulic unit, positioned in a dedicated and accessible area located opposite the tank’s discharge point. This arrangement optimizes space and facilitates maintenance operations, while ensuring the system’s safe and reliable operation.
